Benefits for all our members
Personal touchpoints with Barbara
At month three and month five of your membership, you’ll be invited to book a call with Barbara. You’re always welcome to get in touch at any time, but these two structured check-ins are Barbara’s way of making sure you’re supported and are making the most of your membership.
Your three-month check-in
At the three-month check-in, Barbara will see how you’ve settled into your group, answer any questions and make sure you’re getting the most from your membership, including access to the members hub and how to visit other groups. Barbara will share notes and guidance to help you plan your next six months and talk through how strategic partnerships work. If you’re a Business Room member, you’ll find out how you can contribute to the Adding Value section and you’ll be offered a member presentation slot, but there’s no pressure to do this before you feel ready.
Your five-month clarity call
At month five of your membership, you’ll be offered a one-hour clarity call with Barbara. This is a relaxed, deep dive into your business, your customers and where you feel you need support. Barbara will suggest strategic connections across the wider Your Business Matters network and she can personally introduce you to those contacts. It’s Barbara’s way of making sure you get the most from your membership.
Support at your fingertips
Visit other groups
As a member, you’re welcome to visit other Your Business Matters groups throughout your membership year, providing you’re not locked out of that group by profession. Business Room members can visit other Business Room groups up to four times per membership year. Connections Club members can visit Business Rooms up to four times per membership year. It’s a great way to extend your network and get to know more of our brilliant members.
Search for businesses on the members hub
Our members hub gives you access to a searchable directory of Your Business Matters members and their businesses across all our groups. If you’re looking for a specific service or want to explore potential collaborators, the hub makes it easy to connect with the right people from across our network.
Your business is promoted on our website
Every Your Business Matters member gets a profile on our website, giving you and your business more visibility to members and anyone exploring our network. Your profile is also searchable on Google, which gives you credibility that comes from being associated with a professional networking organisation.
Prepare before you even step into the room
Before every meeting, everyone receives a lead sheet listing attendees and what they’re currently looking for in their business. This means before the meeting even starts, your fellow members are already thinking about how they might be able to help you and you can do the same for them. That preparation is just one of the things that makes Your Business Matters meetings more effective than standard networking events.
Getting more from your membership
Ever considered
becoming a chair?
Chairing a Your Business Matters group is a fantastic opportunity to raise your profile in the local business community. As a Chair, you’ll help shape the tone, culture and productivity of the group.
Being a Chair gives you:
- A central role in shaping how your group operates and grows
- The opportunity to develop leadership skills in facilitation, communication, negotiation and time management
- Increased visibility with members, visitors and other groups across the network
- A wider, stronger business network that grows naturally through your role
- The satisfaction of helping your fellow members grow their businesses
You can also volunteer to be a meeting coordinator, working alongside the Chair to make sure every meeting runs smoothly and that every visitor feels welcomed.
Start a group in your local area
If there isn’t a Your Business Matters group in your local area, you could be the person who starts one. Setting up a group is a fantastic opportunity to become a central figure in your business community and support other local businesses. Barbara and the team provide full support to help you get started so you won’t be doing it alone.
A thank you for growing the community
Business Room members receive a £5 + VAT credit on their meeting fee account every time they invite a visitor who attends a meeting. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping to grow the community and introducing new people to the group.

Networking Tip
Using physical props during your 60 second introduction is a great way to be memorable. Human brains process visuals faster than text or speech, so it acts as a visual anchor that ensures you’re remembered long after the meeting ends.
