This workshop is aimed at: business owners at the pre-launch or launch stage who want practical guidance on bringing their idea to market.
This is a business development day to give business owners (fresh to the world of entrepreneurialism) the required knowledge and advice to launch their business confidently. With this development day, you will be filled with self-assurance to launch your business, as you will have fully evaluated your business idea; clearly identified your target audience, and created an appropriate brand identity. We will also make sure that you have enough information for all necessary legal and financial procedures relevant to a business owner.
You can expect a hands-on, interactive and practical day with advice, expert knowledge and appropriate tools to support your launch.
You can expect the following from this development day:
- A clear understanding of how to:
(a) Decisively evaluate your business idea
(b) Ensure you have a product which customers want to buy
(c) Market a product which you can sell
- Learn key essentials from a brand design expert on:
(a) How to use design to reflect your brand personality
(b) How design decisions help your business to appeal to your targeted customer audience(s)
(c) What different elements of design contribute to communicating your brand and/or product identity and how to use these effectively
- Hear from a launch marketing expert on:
(a) The importance of reaching your target audience effectively and quickly
(b) Launch marketing plan options – so you can decide which is most appropriate for your business
- An expert Q & A session: access to the professionals to help answer your specific questions on legal, accounting, tax and insurance responsibilities.
- Personal action time: consolidated time to prepare a personal action list before you head back to your office.

You will be sent a questionnaire before the development day to complete and bring with you. This will help you to do some preparation before the day and help you get the most out of your time.

Workshop leader: Anna Forgaard
Anna Forgaard is a marketing consultant with a wealth of knowledge, having worked in the wine, media and retail industries. Her 25+ years of experience spans across a multitude of channels and strategies such as mail order; events; product and business launches; acquisition; retention; partnerships and of course consultancy. She has worked with a diverse range of brands including Grazia, Heat, Great Food Club, The Wine Society, Practical Fishkeeping and Car.
Workshop leader: Claire Hersant
Claire Hersant has 20+ years experience in graphic design, and her specialisms include: branding, logo design, corporate identity, brochure and leaflet design, exhibition materials, advertising and web design. With her B.Sc Degree in Psychology, Claire uses nuances of customer perception within her work when advising clients on branding. Her clients have included The Centre:MK, Moorgate Finance, and Homebase.
